DAIWA 26 OUTRAGE MLT (MONSTER LOVES TENTACLE) 66B-5 AI Baitcasting

Daiwa 26 Outrage MLT (Monster Loves Tentacle) is an advanced offshore vertical fishing rod series purpose-built for live-bait and heavy soft-lure tactics (Fireball, Zoka, Vertical Ball, Paluccella, and deep rubber). Designed to bridge the gap between two distinct rod concepts, it fuses the featherlight handling, tip sensitivity, and responsiveness of Slow Jigging blanks with the brutal backbone and structural endurance of Big Game boat rods needed to stop hard-fighting bottom predators (like Grouper, Snapper, and Amberjack) from wrapping into structure.

Measuring 1.98 meters, the blank is constructed from low-resin HVF (High Volume Fiber) Carbon, reinforced with Daiwa's X45 bias technology to eliminate blank twist and Braiding X cross-weaving along the butt section for maximum lifting torque. The highly progressive action features an ultra-sensitive tip that registers the slightest bait nervousness or subtle nibbles, rapidly transitioning into a powerful lower blank that exerts massive pressure on big fish. The lineup includes three Baitcasting power classes (No.4 up to 200g, No.5 up to 300g, No.6 up to 400g)—engineered to pair seamlessly with compact to heavy-duty Daiwa Dendoh electric reels—as well as a dedicated Spinning version (up to 250g). Each model is custom-fitted with a power-matched reel seat: AIRSENSOR on No.4, heavy-duty Fuji on No.5, and Fuji Palming Support on No.6. Fitted with Fuji K-Series Alconite guides, a Fuji SiC tip top, and high-density non-slip EVA grips, the Outrage MLT delivers total offshore control.

Key Technical Achievements & Hardware

• HVF (High Volume Fiber) Carbon Blank: High-density, low-resin carbon construction engineered for optimal strength-to-weight ratio and immediate responsiveness.

• X45 & Braiding X Structural Reinforcements: 45° bias fiber alignment paired with cross-braided carbon tape on the butt section to prevent blank twisting under heavy drag loads.

• Targeted Reel Seat Configuration:

  • No.4 (Casting Max 200g): Ultra-light AIRSENSOR Reel Seat, ideal for compact baitcasters or single-handed JOG-lever electric reels (e.g., Leobritz 200J).

  • No.5 (Casting Max 300g): Oversized Fuji Reel Seat, optimized for medium overhead reels and mid-capacity electric reels (e.g., Seaborg 300J).

  • No.6 (Casting Max 400g): Heavy-duty Fuji Palming Support Reel Seat, built to lock down large 500-size electric reels (e.g., Seaborg/Tanacom 500J).

  • Spinning (Max 250g): Designed specifically for high-capacity fixed-spool saltwater spinning reels.

• Fuji K-Series Alconite Guides with SiC Tip: Anti-tangle K-frame guide train ensuring smooth braid flow and thermal protection at the tip guide.

• High-Grip EVA Handle Structure: Ergonomic non-slip EVA grips providing firm hand lever control during prolonged vertical fights.

Strategic Advantages for Deep Vertical Anglers

The Daiwa 26 Outrage MLT addresses critical deep-water live-bait demands:

• Finesse Detection Meets Big-Game Power: Delivers the finesse tip feel needed to read live bait behavior alongside the bottom-stopping power required for 10–20 kg groupers and amberjacks.

• Seamless Electric Reel Integration: Specifically engineered blank tapers and reel seats accommodate modern Dendoh electric reels for effortless deep-water bottom fishing.

Recommended Applications

• Live-Bait Vertical Offshore Tactics (Fireball, Zoka, Ball Rigs): Outstanding tool for targeting Dentex, Grouper, Pagrus, and Amberjack over deep reefs and wrecks.

• Heavy Soft-Lure & Deep Jigging: Excellent performance when fishing heavy silicon shads and inchiku jigs in strong tidal currents.
